The Great Wall of India - Rahul Dravid - Bids Farewell. An Era Ends!

Date: March 09, 2012

"Dravid was the most Selfless. The most Versatile. The most Humble. A Champion. A True Legend. A Perfect Role Model. The Wall. The most Special. The Go-To Man in Crises. The Finest. The most Respectful. The Greatest Test Cricketer India has ever seen. Yes, The Greatest – second to none!  He will be missed, forever. HE is my GOD." - Divyesh Jani

"There was and is only one Rahul Dravid. There can be no other." - Sachin Tendulkar

"Once Dravid was set, you needed the bowling equivalent of a dozen cannon firing all at once to blast him down" - Shane Warne

"He's probably the nicest guy - no, he is the nicest guy - that I've met in cricket. He's a phenomenal man." - Shane Watson

"The world's most respected cricketer over the last 20 years." - Michael Vaughan

"The Wolf who lived for the pack" - Harsha Bhogle

Kohli annihilates Malinga

Date: February 28, 2012
Venue: Hobart, Australia
Stage: Commonwealth Bank Series - India vs Sri Lanka

India needed to chase 321 inside 40 Overs to have any chances of qualifying for the Finals of Commonwealth Bank Series.

India chased down the target in 36.4 Overs! Kohli brutal 133* came of just 86 balls and, in the process, Malinga was taken to the cleaners!

Malinga, said to be one of the greatest slog over bowlers ever, was taken for 24 in an over by Kohli! Lasith Malinga ended up with figures of 7.4 - 0 - 96 - 1

This Kohli's onslaught definitely goes down as one of the finest I have ever seen!

Very Very Special - VVS Laxman - Bids Farewell.

"I hope his back's pretty sore for next week as well and he can't play." - Ricky Ponting

"When Laxman bats you just stand at the other end and watch and tell yourself not to get carried away." - Sachin Tendulkar

“The greatest innings ever played by an Indian still belongs to him.” - Bishan Singh Bedi

God of Cricket Scores 200, thanks Heavens.

Date: February 24, 2010
Venue: Gwalior
Stage: India vs South Africa

A Sublime Double Hundred, 1st ever in history of ODI Cricket, against a quality side!

The entire stadium erupted in joy, I too was on my feet, ecstatic! A Standing Ovation seemed too little that day. Champion at Work!

Sehwag's Sizzling 219

Date: December 8, 2011
Venue: Indore
Stage: India vs West Indies

Sehwag, the Team India captain that day, at his belligerent best!

Could not watch this Live on Television as I was in office preparing for a Debate Competetion which I eventually did not win. Who cares! I followed live commentary, every ball, and the first thing I did coming back home was watch highlights. Second, removed office bag off my shoulders.

Sehwag's onslaught that day was nothing short of a massacre.

Yuvraj's Six Sixes

Date: September 19, 2007
Venue: Kingsmead, Durban
Stage: World T20 2007 - India vs England
The very thought of this moment brings a "BROAD" smile on my face.

Poor Broad. Poor poor Broad. Mauled!

Flintoff sowed, Broad reaped!

6 consecutive sixes of a genuine fast bowler was something beyond special.

The Desert Storm, Followed by the Sachin Storm

Date: April 24, 1998
Venue: Sharjah
Stage: Coca-Cola Cup Final - India vs Australia

I got to know that day, courtesy Tendulkar, what "assault" and "carnage" exactly mean.

I always knew Cricket was a team game, but on April 22 and April 24, 1998 Sachin needed no other man to shame Australia. Sand-Storm had hit Sharjah, Sachin-Storm was to hit Australia!

His 143 in final league match ensured India a place in finals, and his 134 in Finals - on his Birthday - ensured India lifts the Coca-Cola Cup in Sharjah. We were treated to something truly special. The Great man at his best! Unleashed!

"I'll be going to bed having nightmares of Sachin just running down the wicket and belting me back over the head for six. He was unstoppable. Hi is, in my time, the best player without doubt - daylight second. Brian Lara third."
- Shane Warne

"It was one of the greatest innings I have ever seen. There is no shame being beaten by such a great player, Sachin is perhaps only next to the Don."
- Steve Waugh

At Cricket's Mecca, Mohammed Performs Miracle

Date: July 13, 2002
Venue: Lord's, England
Stage: Natwest Series Final - India vs England

They said India couldn't chase. That they always failed on a big day.

146/5 at one stage, India chased down 325! The Home of Cricket, Lord's, was electrified. I too went ballastic!

Ganguly taking off his shirt and returning the compliment that Flintoff gave in Mumbai was an epic!

That day Ganguly taught us how to celebrate, how to give back!
